Audience: Children and Teens

It is the Christmas of 1794. The townspeople are downhearted because Napoleon has declared Christian worship against the law. Determined to bring the spirit of Christmas into someone's life (including his own), eight-year old Jacques sculpts his own Nativity set out of clay. As he meets neighbors along his travels he depicts them in his Nativity set. Along the way Jacques develops a friendship with a Revolutionary soldier by giving him gifts and teaching him about the Christ Child.
