"CAMPING WITH DADS is a folk-story-song album created especially for fathers and sons, emphasizing the importance of respecting daughters, sisters, mothers, and themselves. The upbeat, positive message comes through a medley of musical instruments and styles from ukulele to church piano, Afro-chic, guitar, Appalachian mountain dulcimer, and much more. Camping With Dads delivers welcome life lessons in a most enjoyable way, and is highly recommended."

"On his latest outing, Peter Alsop takes listeners on a delightful musical adventure with Camping With Dads. Well, it’s not strictly musically because narration and skits are interspersed between the tunes. And it’s also not strictly camping with dad, but…well, I don’t want to give away too much of the fun. The album’s concept is a camping hike taken by adults and kids. It’s a great set-up for sing-along-style songs as well as for wandering off onto different topics too. It all spotlights Alsop’s strengths. A familiar figure in the family music world, the L.A.-based singer/songwriter is a master of mixing humor and serious subject matter. So, while he includes some goofy tunes, like “Bad Dad Jokes” and “I Brought A Gorilla Home,” there are also songs that tackle social justice (“All Our Kids”), racial prejudice (“Skin Color”), gender stereotypes (“I Wear Pink” and “Dads ‘N Boys”). Impressive too are the skits; “Crossing the Creek,” in particular, sounds like the adult and child performers are really crossing a stream. Much like a memorable camping trip, you will learn some things and have a lot of laughs listening to Camping With Dads"
