Amaleigha Makes New Friend

At Happy Days Elementary, Mr. Bowles’s 3rd-grade class starts a new pen pal program with students from Ukraine. Amaleigha corresponds with Vova, a nine-year-old boy who loves to go to school, learn science and how other people live. Vova and Amaleigha exchange many letters. Through their letters, they become great friends as they learn about each other’s favorite food and traditions. When Russia declares war on Ukraine, Amaleigha becomes very worried about Vova, his family and the people of Ukraine.
