My Teacher Is Not Real opens with Violet, a kindergarten student enduring digital school, skeptically studying her teacher’s moving image on her computer screen. With no apparent signs that her teacher, who is starting story time, can see or hear her, Violet logically asserts that her teacher must not be real in much the same way that the characters in a TV show are not real. Violet does not want to remain quiet and still during story time; Violet wants to sing and dance. If Violet’s teacher is not real, then no one but her stuffed animals will be watching, and they LOVE to sing and dance during story time!
MY TEACHER IS NOT REAL provides an opportunity for children, parents, and teachers to giggle their way into the world's newest culture of education that is here to stay.
