The Magic Of Wings

Set against the backdrop of the majestic and untamed Colorado Rocky Mountains, The Magic Of Wings, is a lovely tale inspired by my own personal and enchanting experience with and extraordinarily friendly, one-of-a-kind, gentle and tiny hummingbird named Gracie. The story is written especially for children through the eyes of a curious, adorable little puppy. Gracie was noticeably different than other hummingbirds. She flew just a little slower, was puffier, and a bit clumsy. Over the seven summers she returned to my mountain home, she became quite friendly and comfortable with me. Every spring I'd breathlessly await her return. Would she come back? Would she remember me? Since she flew slower than other hummingbirds, I'd wonder if she could safely navigate the 2,500 miles back and for the from her winter home. I've embraced the incredible gift of nature in Gracie's magical presence in my mountain garden and the lessons learned from spending these summers with her. Gracie's life can remind us that we all have value in our own beautiful way, and we don't have to be perfect to be loved. I hope you enjoy her story.
