The author, Doctor Carolyn Waters Broe DMA, has spent years researching and writing about classical composers. She is published in many music journals. Carolyn Broe earned her Bachelor of Music from Chapman University and her Master of Fine Arts in Music History at California State University Long Beach. Carolyn Broe received her Doctorate in Musical Arts from Arizona State University in Tempe. It was at ASU that she began her research on women composers. She wrote her dissertation on the music of Arizona composer Louise Lincoln Kerr. Carolyn Broe is the Principal Violist of the Scottsdale Philharmonic and the Conductor of the Four Seasons Orchestra in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has given World, American, European, Southwest, Arizona, and Phoenix premieres of orchestra music and viola solos by many composers including several who are featured in this book. Dr. Broe has taught music in colleges and public K-12 schools. She teaches violin, viola, cello, and piano at her private studio. This book is published by Inkwell Books.
