Up From Corinth

Eleven-year-old Duane Kinkade's search for his father leads him to the Confederate Army, and into battle near Shiloh church. Entering the Civil War in search of his father, he faces the chaotic explosion of battle, with death of a close friend, fear, injury to himself, and an unexpected deep friendship, just the beginning of life in an army on the move. The circumstances of that battle land him in the care of a Union army doctor and his teenage ward, who conceal his identity. Up From Corinth follows Duane into January 1863.
