Brilliant Star’s responsive, dynamic website offers a wide assortment of educational and fun content that kids, teachers, and parents can access on mobile devices, desktops, or laptops. We create a safe and imaginative space where kids can play, learn, and explore. Our target audience is children aged 8–12 around the world, and our content encourages kids to develop and use their strengths for the betterment of humanity. A special section of the website provides parents and teachers with helpful resources for the education of kids and families.
Brilliant Star Online’s inviting navigation draws attention to visually engaging content modules. Videos, articles, blogs, polls, and fun facts encourage kids to explore a variety of interests, guided by their curiosity. As they travel through the site, additional topics are quickly accessed through “Side Trips” sidebars or the “Continue Your Journey” section with related content. Over 20 “How to Draw” videos invite them to draw along with our illustrator. Interactive quizzes, fun games, and an art application called “Imagination Station” add to the immersive experience. Online resources have become more important than ever during the pandemic; we’ve expanded our array of hands-on games and activities that can be enjoyed virtually by players in different locations.
This year we launched the first in a series of “Space Ace” videos—an interview with record-setting astronaut Dr. Peggy Whitson. It’s part of “Dr. Scotti’s STEM Station,” developed with our STEM Education Advisor and NASA Distinguished Research Associate, Dr. Steve Scotti, to foster kids’ excitement about STEM.
The “Luminous Library” is a treasure trove of over 45 full issues of Brilliant Star for kids, parents, and teachers to view, search, download, and print. Teachers find the Luminous Library tremendously useful, because they can access activities on specific topics, such as justice, unity, and gratitude. They can also quickly collect resources that fit students’ interests, such as crafts, science experiments, or mazes.
A separate, robust “Parents & Teachers” section offers articles on education, child development, character strengths, family life, and more. We continue to add timely content about social challenges, such as racial justice, dealing with the pandemic, and talking with kids about scary events. Our “Inspiration and Resource Guides” support teachers with innovative ideas for using Brilliant Star in the classroom.
